At Morling Residential College, community is a central part of the resident experience. MRC is more than a place to stay while you study — it is a place where friendships can grow, support is close by, and students can share life together.
Throughout the semester, residents have opportunities to connect through a range of planned and informal social activities, sporting events, community gatherings, and shared moments around College life.
MRC residents have access to a range of spaces that support both study and community life.
The Morling College library is located directly opposite MRC and is available for residents to use. Onsite classrooms may also be used by residents when they are not booked for classes, providing additional spaces for individual study, group work, or a change of environment outside your room.
MRC’s landscaped outdoor areas also offer spaces to relax, catch up with friends, or enjoy time outside between study commitments.
Food is one of the simple ways community is built at MRC.
While MRC does not provide full catering services, residents are invited to take part in community meals and food-based events throughout the year. During semester, MRC hosts a weekly Community Dinner where residents can pause, share a meal, and spend time together.
These gatherings are an important part of life at MRC, helping residents connect with one another and feel more at home.
MRC staff and Residential Assistants are available to support residents, with a 24/7 duty system in place for emergencies. Residential Assistants play an important role in welcoming residents, helping build community, and supporting the wellbeing of those who live at MRC.
MRC is also part of a broader local community that includes Morling College staff and students, Macquarie Baptist Church, and our neighbours in Saunders Close. Community events are held throughout the year to strengthen these relationships and help residents feel connected to the wider life of the College.
Residents who would like to improve their English can also get involved in onsite English classes at MRC.
