Our Commitment to Safety & Respect

Morling Residential College (and Morling College) is committed to fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive community where every individual is valued and protected from harm. As a Christian accommodation provider, the safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff are central to our mission.

We support the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence and acknowledge the serious impact of gender-based violence. We take a whole-of-organisation approach that prioritises prevention, provides trauma-informed support to victim-survivors, and ensures accountability at every level.

While Morling College works towards full legislative compliance by January 2027, immediate steps are being taken, particularly in relation to MRC. We will post updates on this page throughout 2026.

Knowing Where to Turn for Help

Being aware of available support can make all the difference. Familiarising yourself with internal and external services ensures you can act quickly and confidently if you, or someone else, experiences harm. Understanding who to contact, what each service offers, and how to access them helps our community respond safely and normalises seeking help.

Reporting Concerns – RespectX

We recognise that concerns can arise in any community, and we want residents to feel confident that they will be heard and supported. MRC uses RespectX, an independent, secure reporting platform that enables residents to raise concerns about inappropriate or unwanted behaviour.

Through RespectX, residents can raise an informal concern, make a formal complaint, communicate securely with authorised College staff, and access information about available support. The platform is designed to encourage early reporting, protect privacy where possible, and help ensure concerns are responded to fairly and consistently.

Our goal is simple: to foster a residential community where respect, care and accountability are part of everyday life, and where every resident can flourish.

Our policies outline the standards of behaviour we expect within the Morling Residential College community, as well as the processes for preventing, responding to and addressing concerns.
