Social Times

MRC aims to not only be a community of students, but to be a place where life-long friendships are formed. A range of both planned and unplanned social, sporting, and other activities will be held throughout the semester.

Facilities

MRC residents are invited to access the Morling College library located directly opposite MRC.

With newly landscaped grounds, there are also a range of places for students to spend time outside with their friends.

Classrooms are also available at MRC for resident use when they are not in use, enabling residents to engage in study individually or in groups in a different environment to their room.

Food

At MRC we love our food! With a dining hall on campus providing delicious catered meals, we host various community gatherings around meal-time throughout Semester.

These include community BBQs, soirees, tapas, and a variety of other meals.

Student Association

The Student Association is our voluntary student organisation that is dedicated to bringing residents together and ensuring residents have fun. They are responsible for spending the money allocated via the Student Association budget. Examples of activities arranged by the Student Association include Sydney Harbour cruises, a visit to the Sydney Aquarium, Taronga Zoo, Wild Ropes challenge and movie nights. The opportunities are endless! All residents have the opportunity to get involved in Student Association activities and make their time in MRC as fun as they can!

Community Life

MRC Staff and our Residential Advisers are available for residents 24/7, with a duty system available even at night in the case of emergencies. Our Residential Advisers focus on pastorally caring for their fellow residents and bringing the community together so that all residents know that MRC is a place where they can belong.

MRC is proud to be part of a bigger local community, Saunders Community, which comprises Morling College staff and students, Macquarie Baptist Church, and our neighbours in Saunders close. Community events are held throughout the year to bring this broader community together and MRC values deepening these relationships.

Residents who are interested in improving their English also have the opportunity to get involved in English classes onsite at MRC.
